Latest definitions and announcements from Shopee
- Off-Platform Transactions include all actions that direct Buyers away from Shopee, such as sharing contact information, introducing other platforms outside of Shopee, requesting direct payments, and asking for Buyers' personal information.
- From September 16, 2024, violations related to off-platform transactions will be strictly handled, including the removal of violating content and the application of penalty points or account suspension.
- Common violations include: product content, product videos, videos on the Shop's Video channel, store decoration banners, chat content, requests for off-platform transactions, requests for buyers' personal information, and shop names with .vn, .com extensions.
Changes to be implemented
Change 1: In product descriptions
- Content changes: LMC Agency will review and edit all product descriptions to remove information about company names and addresses, phone numbers, websites, and any links leading to social media platforms outside of Shopee such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok.
- Potential situation: Shop products may be moved to "Pending" status and reviewed again by the Shopee team. The maximum waiting time for approval is up to 24 hours, not including Saturdays and Sundays.
- Solution to potential situation: LMC Agency will make changes to product content during the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and encourage Shopee's approval department to approve products as soon as possible.
Change 2: In product images
- Content changes: We will check all product images to ensure they do not contain information such as company names and addresses, phone numbers, websites, or links to social media platforms outside of Shopee. Any violating images will be replaced or appropriately edited.
- Potential situation: Some product images may be removed and need replacement.
- Solution to potential situation: LMC Agency will design images that comply with regulations and replace the removed images. In most cases, customers will not have to pay any additional fees if this group of additional work is not too large.
Change 3: In product videos
- Content changes: Product videos will be thoroughly reviewed to remove any information related to company names and addresses, phone numbers, websites, or keywords related to platforms outside of Shopee. If violating content is detected, the video will be edited or removed immediately.
- Potential situation: Some product videos may be removed and need replacement.
- Solution to potential situation: The LMC team will actively search for replacement videos, and in most cases, customers will not have to pay any additional fees if this group of additional work is not too large.
Change 4: In videos on the Shop's Video channel
- Content changes: Any videos posted on the Shop's Video channel containing Seller contact information or mentioning platforms other than Shopee will be edited or removed. We will ensure that all videos on your channel comply with Shopee's Off-Platform Transaction policy.
- Potential situation: Some videos may be removed and need replacement.
- Solution to potential situation: The LMC team will actively search for replacement videos, and in most cases, customers will not have to pay any additional fees if this group of additional work is not too large.
Change 5: In store decoration banners and livestream cover images
- Content changes: LMC Agency will update store decoration banners and livestream cover images to remove any information about the Seller or platforms outside of Shopee, including QR Codes, text, or links directing outside of Shopee. This helps your store comply with Shopee's new policy.
- Potential situation: Some decoration banner images may be removed and need replacement.
- Solution to potential situation: LMC Agency will design images that comply with regulations and replace the removed images. In most cases, customers will not have to pay any additional fees if this group of additional work is not too large.
Change 6: In automated chat response scripts
- Content changes: LMC will proactively change automated response templates by removing violating information, then replace them with new, more appropriate templates after reaching agreement and consensus from the brand.
Change 7: In shop names with .vn, .com extensions
- Content changes: If your shop name has a structure similar to a website domain (e.g., .vn, .com), LMC Agency will advise and assist you in changing the shop name to comply with Shopee's new regulations, avoiding being considered as violating the Off-Platform Transaction policy.
